Our Story
Fulham United FC is a Semi-Professional football club based in the Western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia.
Originally known as ‘Western United’, our club was founded on 11 June 1969 after breaking away from West Beach Soccer Club.
Made up of a dedicated executive committee predominantly of Italian heritage, we were initially based at Barrett Reserve, West Beach.
Our club played in the South Australian Amateur League fielding Senior Men’s Teams, most of which competed in the Premier Sunday Division 1 competition. We remained at Barrett Reserve until 1979 before moving to a new and improved facility at Collins Reserve, Kidman Park—hence the changing of the club name to ‘Fulham United Football Club’ to reflect the area.
We have been a pioneer of the Women’s game in SA since their introduction to the club in 1997. Following their inception, our Women’s Teams have competed at the highest level and currently play in the FSA Women’s National Premier League. With our strong reputation in the local community, and to cater for the increasing demand for the game, Juniors were introduced in 2007.
Player numbers have grown rapidly over the years with currently upward of 370 registered Junior Boys and Girls.
2016 saw our Senior Men enter the FSA competition with a view to competing at the highest level while also providing our Juniors with a better pathway in the sport.
After impressively gaining promotion in our 2nd season, the Senior Men currently play in FSA State League One.
Since 2018, our Seniors have been playing at The West Beach Parks Football Centre. We’re now looking to announce the acquisition of The West Beach Parks Football Centre as our permanent Senior base in the 2023 season.
